Cookie Policy
Last updated: April 10, 2026
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, remember your preferences, and provide information to site owners. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies ISLA uses and why.
2. How we use cookies
ISLA uses a minimal set of cookies. We split them into three categories: strictly necessary, functional, and third-party embeds. We do not use advertising cookies or cross-site tracking cookies.
3. Cookies we use
Strictly necessary (always active)
Required for the site to function. These do not require consent.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|
| next-auth.session-token | ISLA (NextAuth) | User authentication / session | 30 days |
| next-auth.csrf-token | ISLA (NextAuth) | CSRF protection on auth forms | Session |
| next-auth.callback-url | ISLA (NextAuth) | Stores redirect URL after sign-in | Session |
| isla-cookie-consent | ISLA | Stores your cookie preferences | 12 months |
Functional (require consent)
Enable enhanced features. Loaded only after you accept.
| Provider | Purpose | More info |
|---|---|---|
| Google Maps | Display interactive maps for record shops | policies.google.com/privacy |
| YouTube (Google) | Embedded music previews on record pages | policies.google.com/privacy |
Analytics & advertising
ISLA does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any cross-site tracking. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and request your consent first.
4. Managing your cookie preferences
When you first visit ISLA, you see a cookie banner with two equally prominent options: Accept all and Reject all. You can also choose “Only necessary” to use the site without functional cookies.
You can change your preferences at any time by clicking the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.
You can also block or delete cookies via your browser settings. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may break parts of the site, including sign-in.
5. Google Consent Mode
ISLA implements Google Consent Mode v2. This means that, even if functional cookies (Google Maps, YouTube) are loaded with your consent, signals about advertising and analytics consent are passed to Google in line with EU requirements. We do not currently use Google Ads or Google Analytics.
6. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top indicates the latest revision. Material changes will be communicated via the cookie banner.
